The Story
Born and raised in Seattle, DJ Funk Daddy started out in high school as a producer, engineer, DJ, and songwriter. That range has carried him from battle DJing to clubs, arenas, and film soundtracks.
His production credits include E-40, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Mac Dre, D12, Daz, Spice 1, and Baby Bash, with music featured in the 3 Strikes soundtrack and ABC’s Dangerous Minds. He won Best Club and Mix Tape DJ at the 1999 Northwest Music Awards, and twenty years later took Mix Master | Best DJ at the 2019 Seattle Sound Music Awards.
He has performed at Lumen Field, the Paramount Theatre, and Angel of the Winds Arena, sharing stages with Lil Wayne, T-Pain, Ginuwine, and Bell Biv DeVoe. Today he’s still producing and performing, bringing decades of Northwest hip-hop history to every set.
